Welcome back to our series on alternate methods of storage in the warehouse. In these posts, we’ve been talking about the different types of storage you can implement in your warehouse which are more suited for certain items. For instance, in part one we covered such storage solutions as Stormor shelving and hazardous substance cupboards, which are both used for very different purposes.

There are plenty more options however, that’ll provide your warehouse with the storage solution it needs and we’re going to look at some of them today!

 

Cantilever Racking

Many warehouses contain some oddly shaped items which would be otherwise difficult to find a place for, that is, where Cantilever racking comes in. Specifically designed to handle awkwardly shaped items, this racking can handle all of your tyres, beams, columns and furniture and make it look like it’s a piece of cake.

Mezzanine Storage

Mezzanine is a name attached to a few different kinds of solutions, but it terms of storage, it’s a floor system which is built between two permanent floor stories. This is perhaps one of your more heavy duty storage solutions. Constructed using steel, aluminium and fibreglass, this storage solution is fantastic if you need to pack away your excess goods – we know warehouses are full of excess items!

Push-Back Racks

The ultimate pallet racking solution that allows pallets of items to be stored from 2 to 6 deep on either side of the aisle, thereby giving you a higher density of storage. It can double or triple your storage efficiency; however, it’s recommended that you use this solution for perishable/fresh goods such as fruit and veg.

Spin Block Carousels

If you’re in the business of storing some major pharmaceuticals, then you might want to look into Spin Block. They’re incredibly practical carousels that eliminate unnecessary trips around the warehouse. It’ll also help with your order process, as due to the design, you’ll be able to place several orders at once.
