Troax Musca anti-collapse mesh safety screens are one of the strongest racking protection screens available at present. The Musca mesh system offers a value for money and highly durable barrier against accidents caused by falling goods dislodged by pallet collapses or products being accidentally knocked off pallets that are being loaded or unloaded. The Installation of an anti-collapse mesh screen is strongly recommended on single sided runs of pallet racking where not located up against a wall.
Musca anti collapse system is built around just a few components that when installed to the rear of a pallet racking to provide a strong, durable safety screen. Each panel is constructed using a fully welded frame and mesh. There are various size panels available to order and the majority being available from stock for a rapid delivery. The panel sizes vary from 700mm wide up to 1500mm wide and come in either 1100mm or 2200mm high.
These troax mesh panels are finished as standard, with extra-tough, grey paint. The neutral grey colour conceals any dirt, dust and make it easy to see through, this we feel ensures a clean, neat appearance for many years ahead. The brackets which secure the mesh panels to the rear of the racking come as standard in a pre-galvatite finish. We are able to produce this specific anti-collapse mesh product in your specific choice of colours for an additional cost.

We will design and build the ideal racking and shelving systems for your factory or warehouse.
With every storage application being different but with the majority of needs falling within standard 'off the shelf' racking solutions how do you cope when goods / products you need to be store, just don't fit on a standard pallet? Then Shelf Space will work with you to design a specialised / bespoke pallet racking solution to meet your exact requirements.
When needing to store rolls of carpets measuring up to 4 metres in length you need you need a storage system that will support and protect the carpets from accidental damage through incorrect storage. Usually we would position up to four bays of carpet storage racks (back to back) with full depth chipboard decking located across the beam levels to create a strong, deep storage location for rolls of carpet or fabric. This type of carpet storage racking is typically operated using a forklift truck fitted with a boom attachment for lifting rolls of carpet in and out of the racking.
Cantilever racking is the perfect solution for safe and organised storage of long goods and bulky parts due to the lack of front uprights.
The robust design of the cantilever racking provides reliable storage solutions for heavy duty applications in warehouses, Industrial and retail or external applications. Cantilever racking enables users to minimise stock selection times and easily maintain stock levels by using the upper storage levels for stock, it also maintains the value of high value products by raising them of the floor, keeping it clean and protecting it from damage.
Available in heights of over 7 metres with arm lengths of up to 2 metres, our cantilever racks are manufactured from structural steel to suit your exact requirements. Columns are punched at 76mm increments on both sides as standard allowing use as a single sided or double sided rack as required. Arms are manufactured with a 2 degree angle to ensure items such as tubes do not roll off during loading and unloading and are easily adjusted to accommodate product size changes.
Hanging Garment Storage
Hanging garment storage comes in various forms and can be adapted to match a customer's specific needs for either static, mobile or automatic storage of hanging garments. Utilising standard pallet racking components together with bespoke rails we can supply a storage concept on either a single floor level or using multi-level structures for maximum cubic capacity.
We will design and build the ideal racking and shelving systems for your factory or warehouse.
Drive In pallet racking is designed to maximise floor capacity working on the principle of bulk staking but rather than stacking product on top of product, pallets are stored on drive in rails. As a form of bulk stacking you could achieve up to a 85% saving of cubic space over conventional pallet racking supplied within the UK.
This high density storage system is suited well to bulk stock storage where loads are delivered and dispatched in batches.
Drive In pallet racking works on the principle of first in - last out (FILO). The forklift lifts the palletised load to the required level then the forklift enters the storage lane and deposits the pallet at the furthest point. The process is repeated until the storage lane becomes full. By loading pallets in this way means that individual pallets cannot be accessed directly but unloaded one by one from the front of the rack.
Due to the systems design and structural stability it can safely store heavy palletised loads or block stacking of loads that are too fragile or unstable to be stacked one on top of each other. Drive in storage is particularly used in Cold Store and Chill storage environments (refrigerated & frozen goods) because more space is utilised for pallet storage which makes the cold store much more energy efficient. Where individual pallets are required to be accessed maybe see what our mobile pallet racking systems have to offer.
If pallet access is required from either side of the storage block then we offer a 'Drive Through' pallet racking system. This allows pallets to be loaded from one side and extracted from the other side providing a FIFO system for date sensitive products.

Push back pallet racking effectively utilises floor and cubic space dynamic push back pallet racking is amongst the most space efficient pallet racking storage systems available. This storage system is ideal when storing medium turnover bulk palletised goods of the same type which aren't date sensitive. Generally with each product occupying its own dedicated lane.
There is no need for specialised material handling equipment to be used and pallets are loaded on to wheeled carriers of differing heights and are pushed back along a 4 degree inclined steel guide channels to utilise the full depth of the pallet racking. Modern Push Back Systems can store up to ten pallets deep and once a pallet is picked from the pick face, the remaining roll forward into position at the picking face.
Pallets are retrieved on a ‘first-in, last-out’ basis and with each product having a dedicated lane. Dynamic pallet racking is particularly useful in marshalling areas, and for long term storage of bulk goods.
Flow Racking which is another name for Carton Live storage improves order picking times and helps minimise errors. Product is presented ergonomically to the order pickers using inclined roller beds which are Installed within conventional pallet racking.
Using plastic or cardboard cartons, product is replenished from the rear and moves forward by gravity towards the pick face providing automatic product replenishment. Picking times can be improved even further with the Introduction of 'pick to light' devices controlled by a Warehouse Management System (WMS). Lights guide the picker to a specific lane and even tells the picker the quantity of product to pick. This is how flow racking rapidly improves picking performance as well as virtually eliminating picking errors.
Usually the carton live roller beds are located in the racks and generally under the bulk pallet storage above. This maximises space utilisation and keeps the fast moving / heavy volume products at a low level for fast order fulfillment.
Pallet Live Racking offers a fist in - first out storage system which allows for automatic stock rotation. Pallets are loaded on to inclined gravity feed rollers beds from the rear of the racking. As a pallet is removed from the front picking face, loaded live pallets from behind will automatically move forward under gravity. Centrifugal brakes located inside the rollers themselves helps brake each pallet to provide a controlled decent forward to the picking face.
There is no need for specialised material handling equipment as the forklift trucks never need to enter the pallet live racking. This reduces the risk of accidental rack damage from trucks but also means that conventional forklifts are able to operate within this system as long as they are fitted with a tilting mast.
Maximise your floor space with this high density storage solution with a possible reduction of at least 70% over conventional pallet racking as working aisles are reduced. Improve pallet throughput speed, save money by using conventional trucks and rotate stock automatically by using this dynamic storage system.

Powered mobile pallet racking is an ideal storage solution If you are planning a new build warehouse and need to maximise utilisation of the available storage space. It utilises up to 80% of the available cubic storage capacity and requires only one operating / working aisle to access 100% of the pallets available. These systems are ideal for both Cold Store / Cold Storage applications as well as conventional Warehouse pallet storage operations.
We take a high quality pallet racking system and locate the complete system on heavy duty movable bases. The mobile bases move left or right upon heavy duty inset rails that have been set flush into the concrete floor at the time of completing the floor slab. The powered mobile pallet racking can be operated either by foot using simple control buttons set at the end of the racks or via a control pad located inside the cab of a forklift.
Operation is simple with chassis moving in a cascade sequence until the selected aisle is opened, all form a single push of a button. The system application is powered by efficient, industry standard, electric motors for maximum reliability. Our heavy duty movable storage system can carry bay loads up to 24 tons and reach heights of up to 12 metres and run lengths of over 30 metres. With the need of just one working aisle and its ability to work in temperatures down to -30 degrees makes this high density storage system perfect for Cold Stores and Cold Storage facilities.

Narrow Aisle pallet racking gives you the opportunity to maximise your warehouse or storage area, by reducing the aisle space between the racking and utilising fully the available height at which goods can be stored. Why waste space, when space is money?
By using specialist lift trucks in either VNA ‘man-down’ or ‘man-up’ variants or articulated Bendi or Flexi trucks, narrow aisle pallet racking is precision designed for safe, efficient load handling within the tight confines of these space-efficient aisles. Shelf Space have recently completed a substantial pallet racking project which provided over 4500 Euro pallet spaces within a narrow aisle racking layout working in conjunction with a Linde 'man-up' truck.
Generally 'man-up' style trucks are guided within the aisles by wires (embedded within the concrete floor) or steel guide rails located along the base of the racking which allows the driver to concentrate on loading and unloading the pallet efficiently and safely which dramatically reduces the Incidence of accidental racking damage. Modern VNA (Very Narrow Aisle) trucks are easily capable of lifting the driver and a one tonne pallet over 17 metres high. Shelf Space are pleased to work with your current forklift truck supplier or provide you with details of a suitable truck supplier.
Shelf Space would be happy to visit you to discuss your specific requirements for making the very best of your warehouse space. Our In-house design team will then produce for you a space efficient VNA narrow aisle pallet racking solution and detailed quotation without obligation. Warehouse pallet racking is one of the most widely used for the storage of palletised and non-palletised loads, available today. Single or double sided runs of racking are separated by wider aisles which can be sized to suit the customer’s existing forklift trucks. Usually between 2.5 and 4 metres dependent on if a reach truck or counter balance truck is being used. Where smaller aisles are required we offer a range of narrow aisle pallet racking with aisles as small as 1.6 metres and these are serviced with a specialist VNA narrow aisle truck.
Pallet racking comes in all sorts of configurations, but the importance of getting the basics right is the key to any successful storage project. For safe and efficient operation, Industrial racking systems must be designed to fit and function with both the handling equipment and the load.
Easily Installed, cost effective and versatile, adjustable beam pallet racking is the most widely used of the pallet storage systems and allows direct access to each pallet stored. By selecting from a wide range of sizes and duties for standard frame uprights and beams, warehouse pallet racking can be configured to meet precise criteria in terms of load volume and weight, accessibility, handling requirements and space utilisation.
Pallet racking in its standard form provides safe, cost effective storage for many different kinds of goods and materials. But for increased versatility pallet racking also offers a range of practical add-on accessories to make the storage and handling of goods even easier. Shelf Space offer a wide range of storage solutions including high density mobile pallet racking systems as well as racking accessories such as anti-collapse mesh and bespoke pallet racking.
Beams can be removed and repositioned when changes in use of the racking occur. Although our pallet racking is adjustable, once the beams are slotted into position in the frame uprights, an inter locking structure of great strength and rigidity is maintained.
Each beam is supplied complete with a pair of steel safety locking pins. When located they ensure the beam is correctly positioned and help prevent the beam being dislodged during use. Beam load capacities
Conventional warehouse racking are mainly used for the storage of timber of plastic pallets but with the addition of chipboard, timber slatted decking panels or wire mesh shelves you can create picking storage levels within the racking layout. You can mix & match the racks usage if required. Where higher density storage is required we are UK suppliers of drive in pallet racking systems. Maybe adding a picking level at or near the floor and bulk pallet storage above. As with all our pallet racking products Standard pallet racking is extremely flexible and we can adapt the racking specification to match your own individual requirements. Heights, widths, depths and load capacities can all be matched with what you need to store and how you want to access these items.
